CBD, or cannabidiol, is a plant-derived substance found in hemp plants. It inhibits inflammation and edema and exhibits analgesic properties. Studies also suggest that CB2 receptor agonists reduce inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. The CB1 receptor regulates bone resorption, peak bone mass, and age-related bone loss. In addition, CBD strengthens fracture callus and improves bone toughness and flexibility.
Cannabidiol
Cannabidiol (CBD) capsules are a natural way to relieve a variety of ailments, including anxiety, insomnia, and pain. These capsules contain less than 0.3 percent THC, the compound that makes people ‘high’. Because they contain little to no THC, these capsules are legal to buy in India. But, before you buy these capsules, learn a little about the legal status of this plant.
THC content
The THC content of CBD capsules varies widely. Typically, a dose of CBD capsules with a THC content of 0.02% will not be detected by a drug test. However, a single dose of CBD capsules with a THC content of 0.01% might trigger a positive test in some people. The amount of THC found in capsules should be individualized according to individual needs and conditions. This method is called titration.
Dosage
In the present study, we analyzed the literature and the available RCTs for the dosage of CBD in human studies. We included studies that involved different conditions and administered CBD in different forms and dosages. In some cases, CBD may be prescribed instead of medical marijuana and other forms of treatment. The dose and form of CBD will depend on the indication. However, there is no consensus about the dosage of CBD. In the future, we will study the efficacy of CBD in a systematic manner and report the results.
Side effects
There are several side effects associated with CBD use. These can be a result of an allergic reaction, which is caused by any of the cannabinoids, food additives, or other substances that your body does not recognize as a threat. The immune system constantly monitors your body and tries to destroy threats. However, it can also mistake harmless compounds for harmful substances. So, it’s best to read the label carefully before starting a CBD regimen.
Legality
While the legality of CBD oil is under debate, the plant’s leaf and seed are exempt from the NDPS Act and hence, cannot be referred to as cannabis. CBD oil produced from these parts is not illegal and can be used for medical purposes under the licence granted under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Cannabis is not widely used in India for medicinal purposes. However, the recent controversy has created a negative connotation for the plant.
